Like many trained in health care professions my education taught me to do thorough examinations of my patients, carefully review findings, come to a conclusion about what treatment would be best to resolve a problem, and provide the treatment.  My training at Indiana University School of Dentistry, graduating in 1976, provided a solid foundation for establishing my private practice in Bellevue, Washington but I knew I wanted more.  More than merely discovering what treatment was needed I wanted to know why the problem arose in the first place.

By nature a continual student and life-long learner, in 1980 I began extensive post-graduate training at the renowned Pankey Institute.  This rich post-graduate experience taught me why dental problems occur and what to do about them, rather than just simply treating the consequences.  The extensive learning offered allows me to maintain leading-edge knowledge in dental treatment techniques.  In 1992 I was appointed to the Pankey Institute’s Visiting Faculty, and now as Lead Faculty I have the opportunity to teach Advanced Dental Treatment Techniques with some of the very best dentists in the world.  I participate in on-site teaching at the Pankey Institute as well as world-wide conferencing via the Internet, and I am active in on-going education through local and regional dental study groups.

I am a member in good standing in the following professional organizations:

·         American Dental Association

·         Washington State Dental Association

·         Seattle-King County Dental Society

·         L.D. Pankey Alumni Association

·         Eastside Pankey Study Club

·         Northern Lights Pankey Learning Group
